Training

This includes halter training, being led, trailer breaking, and general fitness. We use treadmills, lunge, and pony young horses to get them used to being around other horses and being handled. 

When we train and break horses, we like to use an approach that leaves both the horse and us, the trainers, feeling like we've done or learned something. This service includes saddle- breaking, standing tied, fitness, and socialization. 

Stallions can be hard to work with. We come at them with a firm but amiable hand. Stallions will be taught to stand tied, be saddle broke, and learn to tolerate the presents of other horses working around them.  

Historically, the hunt style was developed to move fast over lots of ground during fox hunts. It prioritizes speed and mobility. We can train horses for this and to use a hunt saddle and be moved by two hands. We will train horses to set their head and move gracefully. 

Meant for comfortable riding, horses learn to jog rather than trot so that the rider doesn't have to post for long periods. Horses lope and learn to move with intention. Horses will be taught to set their heads lower and learn to neck rein. 

We get your horse to a point where you can sit in the saddle for hours. To a point where your horse is fit enough to drag hay or go into the mountains at a level of near bombproof. They will be taught versatility and docility.
